The Hinge Like Limit: How Many Likes Can You Send Per Day and How to Increase It

Hinge is a matchmaking app that connects people who share common interests.

Hinge uses its special algorithm to matchmake people.

They aim to promote long-term relationships rather than just casual dating, hookups, or a one-night-stand that other dating platforms offer.

In fact, they prefer to be called a “relationship app” rather than an online dating app.

Another difference between Hinge from another type of dating app is that their core demographic is the younger generations, such as Gen Z and millennials.

They offer a free version that gives you limited access to the features such as likes, but is there a way to bypass that and get free likes?

Let’s find out!

How Does Hinge Work?

Hinge works by suggesting profiles of people that they think you’ll like and will like you.

Hinge offers three ways on their app where you can see potential matches.

Discover Feed

Discover feed is where you can see suggested profiles, and you either “like” or “pass” on them.

Ideally, you’ll get one Most Compatible match per day.

The Most Compatible match is a feature that shows users a profile that Hinge’s algorithm deemed to match each other. Basically, they’re someone who you’re looking for who is also looking for you.

To connect with a profile you see on the Discovery Feed, you need to like specific content within someone’s profile. You can also send a “rose” to give your profile priority placement in your potential match’s feed.

Standouts Feed

In the Standouts feed, you’ll see profile prompts and photos instead of straight-up profiles.

Hinge will suggest popular users they think match you.

The algorithm for the Standouts feed considers the contents you interacted with on your Discovery feed.

You get ten or so Standout prompts per day.

You can also send roses on the Standouts feed.

Likes You Feed

This is where you can see who liked your profile or the contents on your profile.

You can only scroll through one user profile at a time for the free version. For the premium version, you can access a grid view of all the profiles.

Here, you can either “pass” a user profile or “match with” and start a conversation.

This is also where your likes are used and seen by other users. This is why likes are one of the most important features in the app.

How Many Likes Do You Get On Hinge A Day?

The number of like you get depends on the status of your membership.

Hinge premium users will get unlimited likes per day.

On the other hand, users of the free version of Hinge get limited likes per day. Each free Hinge user gets 8 likes per day.

That means you can only send a maximum of 8 likes per day if you’re using the free plan.

Why Does Hinge Limit Your Likes?

One reason for the Hinge-like limit is to incentivize you to upgrade to a premium membership where you can get unlimited likes and more features that you can’t or have limited access to from the free version. They are a business, after all.

Another reason for the daily limits is that you’re forced to use them wisely.

With the swiping feature of other matchmaking apps, you quickly scan and decide if you like the profile or not without really thinking about with, which leads to shallow connections.

When you have limited chances to connect to people, it forces you to be careful with how you use those limited chances.

You scroll through the profiles more intently, and the interactions become more efficient.

Does The Daily Free Like On Hinge Stack?

No, the daily free likes you get on the free version of Hinge don’t stack.

They won’t roll over to the next day to give you more likes.

Instead, you basically get another batch of 8 daily likes on the next day.

That means the maximum number of likes you can get per day on the free Hinge app is 8 likes only.

When Do Hinge Likes Reset?

Hinge likes are set to expire every 24 hours. They will reset every 4:00 am in your local time.

This is for free version users only. Hinge preferred members don’t have to worry about this because they get an unlimited likes feature.

Can You Get Extra Hinge Likes For Free?

Unfortunately, you can’t get extra daily likes for free if you’re on the free plan.

You need to pay for either Hinge Preferred or Hinge Premium to get additional likes. Or wait for your daily 8 free likes to be refreshed.

However, you can get a Hinge Premium free trial to experience unlimited likes for a short period of time.

How To Get Hinge Premium Free Trial?

Hinge Premium free trial gives you 7-day unlimited likes and lets you experience other premium features.

You can set up your free trial from any app, but you can only do it once with your account. Once the free trial period of 7 days is over, you will have to pay for the premium features such as unlimited likes.

To start your free trial, follow these steps.

  • Open your Hinge app.
  • Go to your profile page and click settings.
  • Scroll down and look for the Membership tab and click that
  • Select a plan you want. They should all come with a free 7-day trial, so you can select any of them.
  • Enter your credit card information. You will not be charged immediately for the price of the plan.
  • Begin your free trial.

IMPORTANT!

Remember to note what day is the 7th day of your free plan.

Your premium subscription will automatically renew unless you cancel these auto-renewals.

Make sure to cancel the Hinge Premium plan on the membership tab 24 hours before the renewal date, so you don’t get charged.

Final Words

Having limited likes is not so bad. The limited chances you get can make the interactions you make more meaningful.

At the end of the day, it’s not the app that will do all the work.

Limited or not, just make sure that you’re being sincere, and you’ll certainly find someone.

Hope you find the one!
